Setting up the company
What happens to my house if the business is sued?
If the company is set up properly and kept apart from you, its debts stay its own. That’s the point of forming one.
Most owners we meet started trading first and thought about the paperwork later. That’s normal, and it’s fixable. We form the company, write an operating agreement that fits how you actually run it, and walk you through the few habits that keep the company’s money and yours apart: its own bank account, its own contracts, its own signature line.
If you already have an LLC from an online filing service, we read what you have and fill the gaps rather than starting again.
What the formation fee includes
Choosing the entity: LLC, S corporation election or partnership
Filing with the state and getting the tax ID
An operating agreement written for your company
Minutes and ownership records set up from day one
A one-page list of habits that keep the company separate

From first call to a company that stands on its own
Most formations take two meetings and about two weeks.
- 01
Step 1: Tell us how you run it
Who owns what, who decides, and how money comes in and goes out. A twenty-minute call.
- 02
Step 2: We draft and file
The state filing, the tax ID and a first draft of the operating agreement, sent to you to read.
- 03
Step 3: Go through it together
A video meeting to change what doesn’t fit. You sign online when it reads right.
- 04
Step 4: Keep it separate
Your binder, your records and a short checklist for the bank, the insurer and your accountant.
Questions about forming a company
Do I need an LLC if I’m the only owner?
Often, yes. A single-member LLC can keep business debts away from your house and savings, as long as you treat it as separate. We’ll tell you if your situation doesn’t need one.
I formed one online. Is it enough?
The filing usually is. The gap is almost always the operating agreement, which online services leave generic or skip. We review what you have for a smaller flat fee.
Will you talk to my accountant?
Yes, with your permission. Tax elections work best when the lawyer and the accountant agree before anything is filed.
Started trading before the paperwork?
Most owners did. Tell us what you have and we’ll quote what’s missing.
